Frequently asked questions…

What is you Photography style?

If I was asked for three words to describe my photography style they would definately be ‘fresh, natural and timeless’.

Where are you based and how far will you travel?

I am based in North Nottinghamshire and would be delighted to travel where ever you would like me to go; here there, anywhere!

What should we wear for our engagement shoot?

Wearing something comfortable is key! Try soft colours and patterns rather than dark and contrasting, this can be more flattering on skin tones and produce fresher images. But mainly just be yourself, this is a chance to express who you are as a couple. Check out my pinterest page for inpiration.

What does ‘all day’ really mean?

There are no real limitations on how long I will be with you on the day. I like to arrive a few hours before the ceremony to spend time with the bridal party, and I stay until the party starts swinging!

How much time should we dedicate for photographs?

I will be documenting the wedding quietly from the background all day but there will be moments when we need some designated photo time. Allowing around 2 hours between the start of the reception and the food gives you time to enjoy time with your family and friends as well as having some time out (approx 30mins) for us to grab some beautiful portraits of you both together.

How many photos should we expect?

How many photographs I take per wedding depends on what different events happen throughout the day, but you should usually expect a minimum of 500

Do you retouch your photos?

I believe that less is more so I don’t heavily edit my photos, but all of the photo’s that you receive will have gone through post production to present a clean, consistant and natural set of images that have captured the real moments of your day.

What about formal family shots?

My style is based on a more documentary style so my clients tend to book me for the more natural photographs, however there are of course the few family formal shots that are important to family members so I am happy to include them after the ceremony, I recommend about 8 different variations.

When would we expect to receive our images?

You will have an online gallery of your images within 3 weeks of your wedding. Albums take approximately 3 weeks for design and 4-6 for shipping, depending on album type.

And what about Albums?

I recommend the lovingly handcrafted ‘Folio’ album from a fabulous company in Yorkshire or the luxurious ‘Queensberry Albums’ from New Zealand. Have a peek on the ‘Albums‘ page to find out more.

Why are Albums important?

A beautiful, well designed wedding album is the icing on the cake for your wedding images. We can’t be sure of what the future may bring for technology, where will your ipad or usb be in 100 years time? It is possible that your wedding album will be the only physical reminder of your wedding day left and a professionally printed album will be there to pass from generation to generation.
