The Cotswolds are one of my favourite places to visit in the UK. The rolling countryside, the Cotswold stone, and some of the best wedding venues in the country! So I was delighted to make the trip, just before new year, to the Cotswolds to photograph this stunning Lapstone Barn winter wedding….

Winter weddings can make many photographers quiver in their boots, the last of light, the artificial light, the bare trees and barren ploughed fields. It doesn’t scare me, I love the warmth and cosy atmosphere of a winter wedding, and over the years have mastered my own use of light to evoke that cosiness through my imagery; and when I got invited to photograph Larissa & Jon’s wedding in the midst of winter at a barn venue in the Cotswolds I did my happy dance!

I loved the relaxed vibe of their day; they had some funky touches, such as the lighting display that I certainly made use of for some cool couple portraits. They also put a lot of thought into the music throughout the wedding, with various live artists through the different parts of the day.

Larissa & Jon chose a stunning mix of winter elegance and effortless cool throughout their wedding styling. The bridesmaids rich green complimented Larissa’s Berta dress beautifully and looked stunning in the cool winter sunlight. While the guys looked cosy and chic in tailored wool and tweed.

I could natter on for ages about how much I loved shooting this wedding, it was the perfect mix of emotional and fun, with laughter and joy at it’s heart; but for now let me just leave you with this little overview of Larissa & Jon’s delightful winter wedding at Lapstone Barn.
