Just up the road from me, Norwood Park is one of my most visited venues and one I am always excited to return to. It is one of those venues that makes you feel at home, both as a wedding couple, a guest and a supplier; and I have spent many a fantastic day as a Norwood Park wedding photographer.
Norwood Park wedding photographer
The lovely Helen & Martin chose Norwood for their early summer wedding last year, and although the weather wasn’t exactly sure if it was summer or not we made the most of the glorious grounds for some beautiful wedding photos.
Helen had decided to book a little guest house in the local village of Southwell to spend the morning with her bridesmaids, and I was delighted to arrive in the morning to a working artists studio! It had such character, the most perfect back drop to the bridal preparations and a wonderful space for a few bridal portraits before we left for Norwood.
The couple had decided before the wedding that they wanted to take some time away from the chaos of the day to spend a few moments together, and we decided that this would be the perfect opportunity for some relaxed, informal couples photographs. They had planned an intimate picnic on the lawn, complete with hamper and sandwiches, but the weather had other plans. It rained pretty much all morning so Helen had resigned herself to the fact that a sunny picnic on the garden at Norwood wasn’t on the cards. However the amazing owner at Norwood Park jumped to the rescue and suggested that he drive them up to a little building at the top of the hill, over looking the house, for a sheltered picnic together. What a hero! It was perfect and the couple invited me along to capture some fun, relaxed photographs of them together.
There were so many wonderful, unique touches throughout this wedding. Including a hand made wooden arch (created by the groom and covered in flowers) a candy floss machine, monogramed picnic sandwiches, paper flowers in the bouquet and button holes created using Helen’s parents wedding invitations and embroidered handkerchief gifts. The couple had put a lot of thought and a lot of themselves into this wedding, and it was beautiful.
If you are looking for a Norwood Park wedding photographer then I’d love to hear from you, and you can view more of my Norwood weddings on the blog here. A big thank you to the lovely Emma from Coral & Stone who second shot for me on the day.
