I’ve visited the beautiful Haddon Hall many time, but this is my first time photographing a Haddon Hall wedding! And what a wedding!
Wedding photography Haddon Hall
I met with Emma & Rob about a year before their wedding, and we instantly clicked. They are the warmest people and we literally sat for hours over coffee, chatting all things Harry Potter, music, life, love, and Game of Thrones, I mean seriously this pair are my spirit animal! So, when their engagement session came around and knew we would have a blast, I don’t think I have laughed quite so much on an engagement session and left it feeling crazy excited for their Haddon Hall wedding later in the year.
I adore Haddon Hall; it has a truly magical feel. The medieval Manor House is steeped in history and is a literal maze of warm wood panelled rooms, huge fire places, grand galleries and sweeping vistas; absolute magic for a wedding venue.
Haddon Hall Wedding ceremony
The wedding ceremony itself takes place in the Elizabethan Long Gallery or outside in a pretty little spot along the walled garden. Emma & Rob’s day had a pretty rainy forecast, so they had their ceremony in the gallery, and was perfectly accompanied by the sounds of little accordion quartet nestled in one of the windows. The sounds floating through the space made me think of being sat in a cute French Bistrot, perfect for a music loving bride like Emma. Despite a very rainy forecast we were lucky enough to be treated to an hour of brilliant sunshine, perfectly timed to enjoy a stroll and a few photographs in the stunning formal gardens. As soon as we had finished the heavens opened and the guests had to make their way down through the open Hall courtyard sheltering under umbrellas. One of Emma’s favourite images from the day is one I captured of her and Rob picking their way down an enormous flight of steps to the reception venue huddled under an umbrella.
The day ended with a delicious dinner, some heart-warming speeches, a glorious golden hour, a few more photographs, and games and chat over coffee to a background of soft guitar music. Perfection!
“Helen, Thank you from both of us for being the most wonderful photographer we could ever have hoped to entrust our wedding day too. You gave us much more than we eery expected, from relaxing us on the engagement shoot and giving us the confidence to be ourselves, to discreetly managing our friends and families to keep the wedding day on track, ensuring we spent time together in the midst of the celebrations and providing us with images that future generations will hopefully be proud to hang on their walls. Thank you for seamlessly ensuring we were all ready on time and for your reassuring pep talk. All whilst taking the most beautiful photographs. We consider you to be our wonderful friend. Lots of love Emma & Rob”
If you are planning a Haddon Hall wedding then I’d love to hear from you.
