My first wedding of the year was a wonderful Berkshire military wedding. I travelled down to spend a fantastic weekend in the lovely little village of Hungerford for the wedding of Jess & Jamie.
Berkshire Military Wedding
What a special day! When I arrived to the b&b where Jess and some family were staying the night before the wedding we were so excited. The pretty little village of Hungerford was wonderfully picturesque and I was so desperate to explore that the next morning I got up early to venture into the village to have a look around. After I had located the local church and sussed out some perfect spots for photographs later that day, I spent some time relaxing by the river listening to the birds, eating a bacon sandwich and sipping coffee. It felt like I was on holiday!
I spent the morning with a very calm and relaxed Jess in the b&b. I just loved Jess bridal look, she chose a beautiful 1950’s style blue hat and bird cage veil which complemented her chic short hair and matched the pretty lace shoes with blue ribbon. Her lace dress was stunning and suited her perfectly, I loved how the soft fabric just melted into a beautiful puddle beside her as she stood in church and of course Jamie looked every inch the gentleman in his military uniform.
I love the history and tradition than runs through a military wedding. I especially love the traditional sword exit that many military weddings employ. The comradery between military men is so inspiring and being greeted by your comrades as you exit the church and into your new life as a husband is a beautiful moment.
The wedding day ended with a lively barn dance which was great fun. I was too busy snapping the fun to join in properly, but I happily dodged in and out of the dancing crowds and left the wedding party in great barn dance spirits.
“The best decision we made (other than getting married) was booking with Helen. We are eternally grateful Helen. Thank you.”
If you are planning a Military Wedding in Berkshire or across the country do get in touch I’d love to hear from you.
