I am always excited to return to Norwood Park, which has been one of my favourite venues since I started my photography business, but I was super excited after meeting Philippa & Simon on their engagement session at Clumber Park and hearing about their wedding plans at Norwood.
Philippa & Simon held their wedding ceremony at the church in the parish of Philippa’s parents and it was a truly lovely ceremony. Combining the traditions of both an Anglican ceremony and a Methodist ceremony, it had the best of both worlds. A stunning church building, a vibrant minister and excellent hymn choices!I found myself clapping along with the congregation to ‘Shine, Jesus shine’ and grinning like a crazy person as Philippa & Simon exited the church with enormous smiles on their faces.
After a journey in a beautiful vintage car (featured in Downtown Abbey!) they then spent the rest of the day celebrating with their friends and family at Norwood Park. You really couldn’t find a warmer, friendlier or just generally lovelier couple (pretty gorgeous too!) and I could tell this feeling was echoed by the friends and family that all came together from across the country for Philippa & Simon’s wedding. Amazing day and I enjoyed every minute xx
Philippa’s beautiful elegance suited this window seat in the drawing room at Norwood perfectly, I love how the light picks up the soft folds in her silk gown. These photographs have a timeless quality that I love.I had to feature the giant balloons that Philippa and Simon had decorated the wedding venue with!Philippa & Simon had festooned the beautiful wedding breakfast room at Norwood Park with floral candelabras and handmade decorations in gold and soft pink. The bar room was filled with giant cream and pale pink balloons0 and paper and Philippa had even made individual place setting rosettes in beautiful craft paper. Philippa & Simons first dance was brilliant, I love some of the expressions captured in these photographs, they look so completely happy!I have to end this post with a few words from Philippa which I received from her after sending them their photographs. Her words were so amazing and I feel so grateful to have worked with such warm and kind people.
“I just wanted to say, they are just wonderful! You have captured the day really beautifully, every single aspect of it, taking shots of things / people that we didn’t get to see on the day and they are perfect. I had to take a break at one point to wipe away the tears!! (Happy tears that is!). It felt like a day full of warmth and you caught it all, for which we couldn’t be more grateful. I hope you know just how much your hard work, patience and beautiful style is appreciated. I’m sure your clients often say similar things so this isn’t news to you! But you made a huge difference to our best day ever and we will remember you for always.”
Many thanks to the other lovely suppliers that helped Philippa & Simon make their wedding dream a reality.
