A Secret Garden WeddingGringley on the Hill

I find something magical about shooting a Secret Garden wedding, to me it conjures up images of winding paths lost amongst tangles of overgrown shrubbery or stepping around a hidden corner and stumbling across a beautiful bed of bright exotic flowers. The Secret Garden at Gringley is pretty much exactly like that! It’s an Aladdin’s cave hidden garden treasures; it seems infinite in its little hidden corners and quirky details. From the hens pecking around your feet to the 10 foot totem pole, it all feels very magical and very special – like it has appeared especially for your wedding and will disappear again at sunrise!

A Secret Garden Wedding

Chelsea & Sam chose this beautiful venue for their wedding and I was delighted to return to this special place to capture it for them. The day started at the local church on Gringley on the Hill a stone’s throw from the venue. It was a perfect summer’s day and the guests enjoyed exploring the garden before gathering in the pretty marquee for dinner.

After the wedding Chelsea & Sam sent me these amazing words:

“When we found Helen online we knew we’d found ‘the one’. From the moment we got in contact she was genuinely interested in getting to know us and our plans for the big day. When we first met Helen for our pre-wedding shoot she made us feel completely at ease and instantly put our fears and nerves of being professionally photographed at bay. By the end of the session we felt comfortable and even my husband who wanted to cancel the shoot came away saying he enjoyed it and that ‘he’s a natural!’ Throughout the whole process she made us feel special – even sending us a box of chocolates with a lovely note a couple of weeks before the wedding. Then the big day came along and all I can say is “WOW”. She mingled in perfectly with the guests and managed to get photos that captured the mood, atmosphere and emotion of the day. The one thing that stood out to me most, was that Helen has an amazing talent for capturing ‘moments’. The energy and passion erupting from her photos has put a grin on my face time and time again, and I don’t believe they will ever stop having that effect on me. Helen truly captured the essence of our wedding day, providing us with so many beautiful images and I will forever recommend her to friends and family.”
